David James Davenport
DECEMBER 16TH, 1988 - OCTOBER 25TH, 2022
Beloved David James Davenport passed away on October 25th, 2022, after lifelong struggles with congenital heart disease. In life, he was known for his good humor, stoicism, and perseverance. His faith did not come from religious conviction or a lack of knowledge about his own repeated palliations. His resilience was his ever-burning, quiet fire stoked by his desire to be truly happy and, of course, the endless support of every person who loved him. His conviction towards a full life allowed him to work, wed, and start a family.
David exists as the embodiment of the indomitable human spirit. His life was wrought with struggle, born with health issues that have already claimed the vast majority of his peers in his time. And yet, he was still, somehow, wholly with us championing through every appointment, procedure, infusion, and surgery. He will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted, loving husband and father with a mischievous sense of humor. He was a dear friend to many. David enjoyed his work as a software developer and was an avid lover of science fiction, particularly Star Wars and Star Trek. His passion for knowledge and cooking were best shared with those who loved him.
Our wish is to embody the good and tenacity that is David- by pushing the boundaries of exploration, to aid in treatment and prevention for congenital heart disease. His childhood dreams for where research and treatment options would be into his adulthood did not meet in reality. There are children and adults, now, who share the same fearful hope. Let us continue to do our best in pushing for the benefits of better care, so that they may receive it.
