Current Campaign - opening FEBRUARY 2025

The Davenport Project

The Future Depends on What We Do Now

Named for David James Davenport, the Davenport Project aims to link epidemiological factors to congenital heart patients, across the United States. The objective with this campaign is to direct research efforts towards a comprehensive analysis of congenital heart patients across the country- in an attempt to understand what factors could potentially link them together.

The NSCCR is currently overseeing the manufacturing of an epidemiological questionnaire through the University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health, capable of capturing the nuances of the potential links and risk factors associated with birth defects of this varying nature.

Using this survey, we are continuing to petition major hubs of congenital heart patient populations in both pediatrics and adults to use their established patient base to create a shared locale of potentially linking evidence. Our goal is to use the results from participating centers for further collaborative research, to better identify and understand risk factors during cardiac fetal development.
